Don Wells – President
Don started D. Wells Automotive in his three -car garage outside of his home in 1967. House calls changed into shop business when he opened his first official location on Glenrock in Waukegan. After 29 years and 10 months in Waukegan, he and his son Dave found an opportunity to build a new custom shop where they still reside today in Gurnee. Don has an affinity for classic cars, which is evident when you see his meticulous craftmanship with customer’s, friend’s, and his personal classics. Don has been married to Rose for over 18 years and enjoys going to car shows, having breakfast with his buddies, and drag racing with his son David and family.

Dave Wells – Vice President
Dave started at D. Wells Automotive before he could talk! From working during high school for extra cash, to managing the flow of business, he is the Vice President working side by side with his father. He graduated from the Illinois State University with a Degree in Marketing. Dave married his wife, Deanna in 2019. In his spare time, Dave enjoys drag racing, hanging out with his fur babies, and watching sports. Go Hawks!

Dan (Danimal) – A.S.E Certified Master Technician
Dan joined D. Wells Automotive in 2003 and has been in the automotive industry for over 30 years. He and his wife, Dee have been married for more than 25 years. In his spare time, he enjoys father-son projects, camping, and yardwork.
Dream Car: Hemi Challenger (a real one)
Dan Jr.
Dan Jr. started working at D. Wells Automotive while finishing High School. He graduated from Tremper High School in 2020 and is attending school to become an automotive shop teacher. In his spare time he enjoys the father-son projects mentioned for Danimal, as wells as antiquing, going to garage sales, and camping.
Dream Car: 1958 Plymouth Fury
Zach – A.S.E Certified Technician
Zach started in the automotive industry at D. Wells Automotive in 2015. Prior to becoming a part of our family, he was a welder but knew his passion was for cars. In his spare time Zach enjoys hanging out with his Husky Turbo, playing volleyball, and working on his personal car.

Jake – A.S.E Certified Technician
Jake joined D. Wells Automotive in 2001 and has been in the automotive industry for more than 20 years. In his spare time Jake enjoys traveling, playing volleyball, camping and hiking with his 2 daughters. Like Mike & Dan Wade, he is a Packer fan.

Moises (Moi) – A.S.E Certified Technician
Moises joined D. Wells Automotive in 2015 and has been in the automotive industry his entire life. His father owned a shop in Mexico where Moises was born and resided until 2008. When he is not spending time with his kids, Moises enjoys working around the house, fixing up his yard, and cooking.

Dan (Wade) – Service Manager
Dan joined D. Wells Automotive in 2019 and has been in the automotive industry for more than 20 years. He was previously a member of the D. Wells family in 2012, however took a brief “vacation” from the auto industry in 2016. He lives in Wisconsin and has only two friendly faces in the shop when it comes to football (Mike & Jake). In his spare time Dan enjoys riding his motorcycle, sprintcar racing, and cooking.

Sheryl Jackson – HR/Bookkeeping
Sheryl joined D. Wells Automotive in 2013. She has two children, and has been married to her husband Ron for over 15 years. She has an English degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside. When Sheryl is not driving her kids around, she enjoys gardening and boating with her family.

Sharon – Administrative Assistant
Sharon joined the D. Wells Automotive team in 1985. She has 7 children, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She and her husband Larry have been married for over 45 years. When Sharon isn’t spending time with her family she enjoys taking long drives and working on projects around the house.
Dream Car: 1970 Corvette she’s owned for over 30 years
Chris G. – Service Advisor
Chris joined D. Wells Automotive in 2021 and wishes he would have made the move sooner! He has been in the automotive business for over 16 years. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Kim and their 2 Great Danes.
