D. Wells Automotive Service in Gurnee, IL started back in 1967 in a home garage and has grown to where it is today over the years. It all began when Don Wells, our founder, who wanted to repair vehicles and take care of customers the right way, unlike the dealerships for which he worked for in the past. Now, Don and his son, Dave, run the shop together and have been working together for over 20 years.
Don’s son, Dave Wells, started working at the shop before he learned how to crawl and they continue to work side by side today with a passion for excellence. Don has been working on cars since he can remember and Dave followed in his father’s footsteps. Dave also has a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Illinois State University. He ultimately chose to pursue auto repair because of his love of cars and a passion for doing things the right way to ensure the customer receives the best quality service.
At D. Wells Automotive Service, we strive to give back to our community in any way that we can. This is why we participate in supporting a Car Care Ministry with NorthBridge Church, donating services for local charitable organizations, and sponsoring local events. We want to be active members of the community that we know and love here in Gurnee.
